International Update: Bolos Quentes In Brazil
Brazil may be famous for the festivals and festivities of Futebol, Carnivale and Copacabana, but the world's tenth largest economy put on a show of a different kind with the M&T Expo, running June 3-6, 2009.
M&T Expo 2009 - the 7th International Trade Fair for Construction Equipment and the 5th International Trade Fair for Mining Equipment, held in Sao Paulo this June, was larger than life in Brazil itself; with some 350 exhibitors from over 25 countries, in an area of 85 000sqm, the event attracted over 42 000 foreign and Brazilian visitors.
Allight was one of these 350 exhibitors at the colossal event, through our Brazilian dealer Renco. Allight USA's David Price there to meet the visitors and talk them through the features of Allight's Nightshifter towers showcased on Renco's sizable 300sqm stand. David Price speaks on the fair and its Sao Paulo setting; “The Brazilian market is still estimating strong growth in construction and mining over the next five years. M&T was great for Renco and Allight, plenty of interest in the product and plenty of opportunities across Latin America.”
The Nightshifter Manual 4000 and Hydraulic 6000 models were both on display, generating much interest from both mining and construction industry professionals. For the vast mines of the Americas, Allight's Mine Spec Series lighting towers were also in demand. Renco picked up some Mine Spec towers and new Mark 3 Nightshifter 4000s for their new Minas Gerais branch – Minas Gerais (Portuguese for ‘General Mines') is a state of Brazil encompassing Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, so named for the great riches of its mining industry.
David Price tells us how impressed Renco and M&T visitors are with Allight's lighting solutions; “With the strength of the Real and the Brazilian economy, the Mine Specs are becoming very affordable. They're such a tough, heavy-duty machine, and they're going like Bolos Quentes (hotcakes).”
